I couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this podcast and be with you guys during these episodes, to share more of my passion and help you simplify your health and reduce the overwhelm.

In this first episode, I thought it would be great to discuss a very common problem: fatigue.

Almost every single one of my inquiry requests to work with me includes some mention of fatigue in the description of how they’re feeling, That’s why I chose this one to begin with. So, if you’re lacking in energy, stick around!

Fatigue is a feeling of constant tiredness or weakness and can be physical, mental or a combination of both. It can affect anyone, and most adults will experience fatigue at some point in their life.

I’d like to share with you the most common mistake I find women make when it comes to having enough energy throughout the day: Simply not eating enough!

If you’re struggling with energy, the first step is to understand how your fuel works in your body. Yes, it’s likely more than just what you’re eating. However, this is foundational. This is how your body gets energy. This is how your body runs all of its daily processes, and it starts with the fuel that you put in.

Micro and macronutrients are the building blocks of all bodily processes. So, if there are gaps and the body does not have enough fuel, it often manifests as fatigue in our bodies.

You might be surprised at how many times caloric needs aren’t met.

I think that especially for women, depending on age and what is going through these different fad diets, the low-fat craze or all of the different things that we’ve seen over the years have really skewed our perception as far as how many calories we actually need in a day.

You should write down what you eat for at least two or three days to see how many calories you consume in a day and what those calories consist of. How nutrient dense are those foods? Because that is significantly vital, and specifically in terms of energy, protein is important.

Protein is essential for your body to maintain adequate fuel levels. Your body obviously requires more than just protein; it also requires carbohydrates, fat, and some fiber, but protein is what keeps you steady throughout the day.

And protein is a huge help in keeping your moods, energy, and everything else consistent throughout the day because it helps so much with blood sugar balance. Nevertheless, you should consider how many total calories you consume in a day.

So, start a food journal and start recording what you eat. This does not imply that you must be perfect.

When you are filling it in, don’t alter what you’re eating on a regular day. You don’t want it to be just that you eat very strictly on the days you’re journaling. No, it must be an accurate description and representation of what you eat on a daily basis.

Consider how frequently you eat throughout the day and how you feel after eating because fatigue and low energy can often indicate that your body isn’t getting enough fuel, which means your metabolism isn’t able to get going.

These are things that may appear to be obvious. However, I believe that we can get so caught up in our daily lives that we don’t even realize what we’re consuming. We’re just taking whatever we can get our hands on. Or maybe we’ve just settled into a kind of eating pattern where we don’t really pay attention to how many calories or grams of protein are in our meals.

This is the number one mistake I see people making. However, there are other steps to look at to support better energy.

And so I’ve actually created a free PDF with 3 steps to support daily detox for better energy. Our body is trying to detox every single day. And if we are not giving it what it needs, oftentimes it can show up in fatigue.

This free PDF has more information including a food journal and an app to track what you’re eating to make sure you’re getting enough fuel for your body. It also has two more steps to take for better energy that is included!
